LA DIGUE ISLAND

La Digue, the third major granite island situated half an hour’s boat trip from Praslin, is arguably the most charming and certainly the most photographed of all the Seychelles’ islands.

The island is famous for its distinct brand of Creole architecture and for the rare black Paradise Flycatcher, a bird once thought to be extinct. Here, you will visit the L’Union Estate with its majestic colonial house and learn how coconut is processed into copra and oil. Only a stone’s throw away is where you will find giant land tortoises housed by an imposing granite boulder, beneath the branches of a massive Badamier tree. No trip is complete without the chance to swim at the world-famous Anse Source d’Argent, the setting for many an international film and prestigious advertising campaign.

This excursion is available as a guided tour or at your own leisure, by bike.
