The East
A half day tour, Departs mornings and afternoons
Travel along the main road towards the southeastern part of the island. You will be able to admire the lush vegetation of protected reserves, which are home to endangered species of fauna and flora.
Visit places as Handycraft workshop “Les frère Léopold”, Roche Bon Dieu, Anse Ally Beach and St. Francois Beach. From St Francois travel by foot, a half hour walk on rugged terrain before arriving at the breathtaking white sandy creek of Trou d’Argent, a place of meditation and inspiration for many as depicted in the various legends attached to it.
Greater South
A half day tour, Departs mornings or afternoons
Travel along the northern coast until Baie du Nord then inland towards La Ferme. You will pass in front of La Ferme Stadium where the Pope Jean Paul II celebrated mass in October 1989.
We then make our way to one of the 25 rock caves, Caverne Patate, found in the largest coral plain of the Indian Ocean, Plain Corail. From there we visit a coral quarry where the coral cutters where cutting blocks by hand up to March 2002.
We continue along the southern coast passing through charming little villages up the winding road of Port Sud Est, which boasts 52 curves, with the stunning views of the lagoon and its surrounding reefs.
The North
A half day tour, Departs mornings and afternoons
Get an idea of the Rodriguan daily live by walking in the small Capital of our Island: “Port Mathurin”. Take your time to visit the small Shops to buy souvenirs, postcards, the local honey and local handicraft.
Also you will visit : Grand Baie, Anse Aux Anglais, the view point Reine de Rodrigues at Pt. Canon, Craft Aid - workshop, Harbor and the Administration Center.
Island Tour
This full day tour is a package from the excursions “The South”, “The East” and “Port Mathurin”.
To start the excursion we will pick you up from your Hotel. You are going to see our capital Port Mathurin in the north of the Island where the Quay, Administration Center, many handicraft-shops and craft aid (the only working and school-center for handicapped people in Rodrigues) is found.
After you’ll visit Grand Baie, English Bay, “Reine de Rodrigues” at Pointe Canon – from there you will have a great view on Port Mathurin. By passing at Oyster Bay and North Bay you will reach the southern part of Rodrigues.

Coco Island
Full day tour, Departure mornings (time depending on the tide)
Pride of place among the list of the island’s beauties and declared a bird sanctuary, home to birds (as noddies), which breed in thousands along with other birds.

Discover Rodrigues Nature
Half day Tour, departure in the morning or afternoon.
Discover the nature of Rodrigues on a beach and also from one of our nature reserves together with our guide.
The seashore is a wonderful place to explore – it is the edge of the land and the beginning of the ocean. Many different types of plants and animals make their home there, changing and adapting themselves to survive comfortably in this difficult environment. Some creatures burrow in wet sand, others hide in damp cracks and crevices or under stones and others have shells to protect them. You are going to explore three parts of the shore.
After this interesting walk at the beach you will visit one of the nature reserves: Despite severe deforestation, the flora in Rodrigues is varied and interesting. A great effort is being made to protect the trees and endemic plants by the wildlife foundation in the nature reserves. You will be able to see for example the last “café maron” – plant that is unique in the whole world.
Return back to the hotel after a very interesting Tour and with a lot of information about the Environment of Rodrigues.
HIKING
Montagne Tonnerre
Half Day, Departs mid mornings or afternoons
Travel by car to Oyster Bay – Allée Tamarin. You will pass via Montagne Tonnerre with a great view on Fond la bonté. Passing in an Eucalyptus-forest and discover the endemic, rare palm trees: the Lataniers Blue, herbs, fruits and amongst corn, peanut and onion plantations; meet women at work digging terraces and children playing alongside.
From there, climb up to Petit Gabriel where you will be rewarded with stunning views of the valley of Baie aux Huitres and a very
typical Rodrigues Village. Enjoy the rural scenery and breathe in the natural tranquil beauty of the surroundings and the immense lagoon reflecting dancing silvery colours from the afternoon sunlight. Passing along a very small river you will discover the green vegetation of a little forest of Mango- and Citron-trees. With some luck you’ll see some fruit bats searching for food.
Arrived at Fond la bonté you’ll be back at civilization. Discover the fruits growing in the gardens such as: Leeches, Mango, Bananas, Papaya, Coconut, Mandarins, Oranges, Prunes… etc.
Baladirou
Half day or full day outing, Departs mornings and afternoons
Another far from the maddening crowd time spent at the beach after a downhill walk by Bel Air with beautiful panoramic views of lush gorges and deep valleys.
Discover nice little Creole houses; meet laid back locals savoring a little rum under the veranda of a shop, chatting pleasantly about life’s hardships and the latest episode of Brazilian soaps.
Relax on the beach and watch women, thigh deep in water, harvesting octopus on the reefs.
Hiking at the East of the Island
Half day, Minimum 3 pax, transfers incl.
Visiting the most beautiful beaches of Rodrigues like: Graviers, Trou d’argent and St. Francois by walking. Relax on a nice beach and have time for a little swim and a good picnic. This is real holydays!
Hiking at Baie Topaze & Barbecue at Catherine Islet
Full day excursion (min. 3 pax)
By car to Baie Pistache, walking to Plaine Mapou, by pirogue to Catherine Island. Try your luck to catch some fish on the way. Barbecue and drinks on the Island and a lot of time to relax, discovering the mini-islet and to have a little swim. Return by pirogue and walking to Baie Topaze. Return to the hotel by car after a great day.
Sportive Sunset Tour
Half day tour, departure afternoon
Driving by bicycle to Mt. Fanal. After arriving down at Anse Goéland taking a little drink and snack. Watching the nice sunset at the seaside – do not forget your photo-camera! Going back to the hotel by car.
Hiking at Anse and Cascade Pistache
Half day tour, departure in the morning or afternoon
This place will undoubtedly, remind you of Africa’s Savanna. With its rugged and earth-colored landscape, its burnt grass, you would expect a lion or a leopard to spring up at any moment … But the blue of the tropical sea and the and the Rodriguan fishermen will bring you back to reality, to Rodrigues…
Hiking along the coast, up at Cascade Pistache and Picnic in this wild place with a great view on the Cascade. Return on the border of the Cascade to Anse Pistache, where the car is waiting to bring you back to the hotel.
FISHING

Lagoon fishing
Half day tour, departure depending on the tide.
Do you want to want to know how many of the rodriguan families earn their daily bread? So try your luck and have a fishing trip on a pirogue boat. Ask the cook of your hotel, if he could prepare you a great lunch with this FRESH fish.
Big game fishing

Big game fishing is a great sport and interesting on the deep sea at the same time. Rodrigues’ virgin waters are every fisherman’s paradise. Marlin, emperors, tuna, according to the skipper, abound- deep sea fishing being in its infancy.
BICYCLE RENTAL
Are you sportive? Do you want to do things, what at home you do not have the time for? So the best is to rent a bike and to visit Rodrigues in a relax way. Stop as often you want to have a swim, to admire nature or to take great photos.
