LOCATION

A new experience awaits guests at Bel Ombre, on the island’s south-west coast.
The 4-star Tamassa stands at the end of a long avenue of mature coconut palms towering skywards.
A picture postcard landscape stretches across sugarcane fields to the mountains beyond. The south-west is the most unspoilt part of Mauritius, with spectacular walks and drives through lush, tropical hillsides and a range of open-air activities in beautiful countryside.
In front of the hotel, beyond the sandy beach, lies a turquoise lagoon that almost blends into the skyline. The sea air is invigorating and the ripples of the waves gently calming. Beyond, lie thousands of miles of open sea.
The traditional style architecture ideally suits the tropical setting, with beautifully landscaped gardens. The buildings seem at one with the environment. Standard Rooms
The décor is strikingly attractive, with pure, simple lines contrasting with bright green touches on the bedspreads, and an inspired image of a bird of paradise on the wall above the headboard. With the terrace door wide open, the colours in the Room seem to blend with the trees and plants outside. Each Standard Room has either a queen-size bed or twin beds. The bed cover, specially designed for the hotel, gives an immediate feeling of intimacy.

Superior Rooms
Warm, sunny colours envelop the room. The décor is attractively uncluttered, with clean, contemporary lines offset here by touches of red orange.
An image of a huge, orchid stands above the wooden headboard and the touches of orange in the curtains and the uniquely designed bedcover are intoxicating.

Deluxe Rooms
The orchid feature again predominates above the headboard of the queen-size bed, but this time shades of fuchsia are featured throughout to dramatic effect.

Main Restaurant

The restaurant’s terrace overlooks the main swimming pool.
Beams of light from gobos illuminate the pure, contemporary lines of the interior, where shades of orange merge into rounded lines and cubic shapes.
The main restaurant is divided into three and based on the concept of three open kitchen s, offering a range of international cuisine, with buffet breakfasts and lunches and à la carte or buffet dining.
Beach Restaurant and Bar

This is the place to relax with your feet in the sand, watching the sea, having a hearty salad lunch or enjoying the Latin cuisine. The dinner menu varies from themed evenings to buffets and to à la carte.
Lounge Bar
Seats 150
The main bar is split-level, with a unique décor combining contemporary and traditional touches.
The wooden bar counter is at table-height and the bar itself is surrounded by large, comfortable armchairs.
White and turquoise predominate in the colour scheme, offset by wood, steel and glass fittings, to create a feeling of warm, contemporary elegance.
From the ceiling, globes of light add to the subtle atmosphere and reflect in the ivory-coloured flooring, studded with bluish decorative tiling.
The Lounge Bar offers a selection of cocktails, rums, beers and spirits of international brands.

Free of charge: windsurfing, pedal boats, kayaks, aqua gym, sailing, snorkelling, glass bottom boat rides and water-skiing.

For a fee: Mountain bikes, billiards and game machines.
There is an 18-hole golf course next to the hotel.

Health and Fitness

SPA
Gentle shades of green and khaki blend harmoniously with the wood and the surrounding greenery.
The spa has 16 treatment rooms (14 double), a 12m long pool, a hot tub, a sauna, a hammam, two changing rooms, a hairdressing parlour and a beauty salon which provide beauty care and massage.
The double treatment rooms (17m2) all have a private garden outside.

Children

Kids Club
A circular building houses the Kids Club, which is next to the tennis courts. It has a large amphitheatre-shaped space for shows, a dining room on the terrace, 2 internet-access screens, a sandpit and a rest room. The Club is air-conditioned and is for children between 3 and 12.
The kids are looked after by qualified staff who organise activities from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. A baby sitting service is available on request (with supplement).

Teens Club
The Teens club, for older youngsters, has games machines, a billiard table and table football.

Conference Room

The air-conditioned conference room can hold 80 people seated cinema-style.
Standard audio-visual material is available free-of-charge to hotel guests and includes the WIFI coverage, a 35mm slide projector, an overhead projector, a video and cassette system, a DVD player, microphone, a flip chart, a video projector, a lectern and a wall-mounted screen.
Other equipment can be obtained on request (with supplement).
