Opened in early 1998, along side one of the most beautiful beaches on the island with over one kilometre of white powdery sand, The Residence Mauritius recreates the atmosphere of the 1920's in a refined and luxurious colonial setting. Built on a beautiful plot on the East Coast, it harmoniously combines modernity and tradition. The hotel has 1 kilometer long beach and located in the coastal road of belle mare and has a turquoise intense d'un lagoon. The Residence Mauritius is an oasis of elegant luxury with ocean views that stretch to infinity, majestic tranquility and exotic harmonies of form, shades and moods. The long view down the beach expands to 2/3 mile and the palm treed gardens offer a shady retreat. The decoration of 151 oversized rooms and 20 suites is an inspired blend of sobriety and elegance.Each of the luxurious rooms has balcony, patio or terrace. The bathrooms are equipped with bath tubs and separate shower cabins.

The 28 luxuriously suites, each with air-conditioning and ceiling fan , are divided in 4 categories : The " Garden view junior Suite" enjoy a adjoining area while the " Garden wiew Senior Suites" have their own separate living room. Both feature satellite Tv with in-house movie & music channels, tea & coffee facilities. Dvd/Cd player and direct dial telephone with voice mail system. The Terrace comes complete with chairs and table. Sun-beds are placed also in the Senior suites. Both categories are perfect for families. Optional complimentary facility : computer with internet access.

The Colonial Suites
The "Colonial Ocean View" and " Colonial Ocean Front " Suites are elegantly furnished in a refined colonial style and enjoy a sumptuous four-poster bed. The living room hosts a computer with free internet access, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar, satellite Tv with in-house movie channels.(one tv set is also placed in the bedroom). Dvd/Cd player and direct dial telephone with voice mail system.

SPECIAL
Couples on their honeymoon will receive an exotic fresh fruit bowl and a bottle of champagne in room, 1 beach bag, 1 pareo, 1 T-shirt and a set of 5 postcards as well as a candlelit dinner (in a romantic setting and a special menu).

The Verandah, light dishes, sandwiches, salads, pizzas and home-made ice creams served around the pool for lunch.
The Plantation, with freshest seafood and Creole cuisine, live Sega dancing and original local entertainment several times weekly, oceanfront setting and open for lunch and dinner.

The Bar, a 5,400 square foot lounge with discreet, comfortable seating for late breakfast, traditional high teas, evening cocktails with live musical entertainment nightly until midnight. Beach and poolside service.

The Sanctuary Spa

The Sanctuary, located inside the Hotel, is a vast 400 square meters space dedicated to treatments for the body and the soul. One of the 9 treatment rooms is located in the tropical garden overlooking the lagoon offering massages in a delicate seaside breeze. More than a massage or sports centre, The Sanctuary offers a unique concept in Mauritius, and its original environment takes its inspiration from "Zen" philosophy, with a restful decoration.
